A Focus on this Coveted Collector’s Piece
Die-hard Hermès collectors will already be familiar with the elusive Amazone Kelly Couverture et Tenues de Jour. The bag, released in 2010, was inspired by a print of a blanketed horse from a 1974 Carrè scarf designed by artist Jacques Eudel. The artist’s works have been featured on Hermès scarves, bangles and porcelain since 1961. Some of his best-known pieces are Les Voitures Nouvelles and Grand Apparat, a much-loved and often-counterfeited piece.
The Amazone Kelly Couverture et Tenues de Jour perfectly encapsulates the artistry, heritage and craftsmanship of the brand and is rarely on the resale market for long.
Hermès produced this Kelly 32 bag in two versions: Vert Canopee Toile GM canvas and a Fauve Barenia leather trim, as well as Rouge H Toile GM canvas and a Fauve Barenia leather trim. Both versions feature an Amazone shoulder strap and Palladium hardware.
